176 / CANADA’S VOLUPTUOUS CLOTHING

Over the weekend, I randomly came across Voluptuous Clothing while browsing Lou Lou Magazine’s 14+ section. I was tempted not to click because the name was too cheesy for me. I’m sort’ve glad that I did though because if you can get past the name and even the styling of some of the models and outfits, they have some cute things! This is pretty much what I expected Faith21 to be - trendy, affordable clothing. While everything Voluptuous offers isn’t to my taste, they offer something for everyone. I’m disappointed that they do not offer online shopping though. Its a tease to only be able to window shop but I wanted to post another resource for the readers in Canada who may be looking for clothing options. Matter fact, if anyone has a Voluptuous store near them and wants to do an in-store review, let me know! I will happily post your review on the blog (and also beg you to pick up a pair of those paneled leggings above for me!).

So what do you think of the clothing they offer? Would you consider this to be too trendy? Does anyone have any experience with Voluptuous and the clothing they sell? Let me know in the comments!

ps. I did an interview with Tiffany from Fat Shopaholic and its now up! You can read it here!

pps. TODAY is the last day to submit your favorite outfits from 2009! Send them to christina@musingsofafatshionista.com!

107 / STORE SPOTLIGHT: ASHLEY STEWART

If I’m being totally honest Ashley Stewart is not a store that I frequently shop at. I usually only check out their fall tights because they sell colors other than black, brown and navy. Last year I picked up bright red as well as gray opaque tights. I also tend to take advantage of their 4 for $20 underwear sales. As far as the clothing is concerned, it always seemed to a be geared towards women older than myself. I found myself checking out their website after seeing the September cover of Plus Model Magazine (below) pop up in my Twitter feed.

I thought hmmm, maybe I should check them out and see what they’re offering. While everything isn’t for me, there are some gems that I wouldn’t mind adding to my closet.

Cascading Ruffle Combo Dress | Ponti Colorblock Dress

Belted Cowl Neck Dress | Tweed Open Jacket

Assymetrical Motorcycle Jacket | Zipper Trench Coat

Ashley Stewart carries sizes plus sizes 12-26. They also released their fall lookbook which you can view here. Right now all jackets and coats are 25% off so if you see anything, be sure to snatch it up!

Does anyone have experience with Ashley Stewart? Let me know in the comments!
