210 / ROMPER LOVE

One of my personal goals for the Spring/Summer is to wear more shorts! I usually stick to dresses, skirts and leggings in the warmer months because I can never find a pair of shorts that I like. So while I’m still searching for my perfect pair of shorts for the summer, I decided to expand that idea to include rompers! Rompers by nature are a bit playful and are perfect if you want to add a bit of whimsy to your wardrobe. Lately it seems as though many plus retailers have hopped on the romper train for the Spring and I am not disappointed. There are lengths for everyone as they have jumpsuits for those who prefer longer lengths, rompers for those that love to show a little leg and Torrid even has lingerie-like romper for the Lady Gaga in all of us.

What are your thoughts on rompers? Are you hoping on the romper train this Spring?

199 / EVANS SPRING/SUMMER 2010 COLLECTION

It seems as though the internet is all abuzz over the latest teaser images from the Evans Spring campaign and rightfully so. The above image, which was first posted on Young, Fat & Fabulous, shows plus models Amber Tolliver, Britney Vecchio, Crystal Renn, Peeky and Hayley Morley all styled in smokey eye makeup, slicked back hair, skinny jeans and leather and studded denim jackets. Could it get anymore fierce?

This morning while procrastinating on Twitter, I saw that Lauren of Pocket Rocket tweeted about more (not all) images from Evans Spring collection. As I went through the pages of clothing images, my eyes got bigger and bigger. Evans has seemingly touched on many of the top trends for Spring’10 but what I love the most is the fact that its a mashup. Typically most Spring collections are full of floral dresses and bermuda shorts which can get a bit boring year after year. Evans has spiced up the collection with the inclusion of leather vests, sequined jackets, biker jackets, and studded and distressed denim. Can you tell that I’m IN LOVE with the jackets in this collection yet? I really think there is truly something for everyone, no matter what your ‘style’ of dress is. As someone who is usually severely underwhelmed by Spring collections, there are so many things that I want!

I’ve selected a few of my favorite pieces and posted them below. You can see more of the clothes, accessories and even some amazing runway photos featuring Hayley Morley and Crystal Renn modeling the clothing here!

You can see the original sneak peek post that started the frenzy by visiting Deena’s blog, Fat Girl’s Like Nice Clothes Too!

What do you all think of the images? Are you excited?! Let me know!

198 / FAITH 21 SPRING 2010 LOOKBOOK

As Spring gets closer and closer, retailers are starting to release their Spring lookbooks and campaigns. Recently Forever 21/Faith 21 released images from their upcoming collection and they make me excited for Spring. More so than the actual clothes, I love the photos. They are fun and carefree. They remind me of the best parts of Spring - hanging out with friends and the arrival of the carnival!

Fashion-wise, I don’t love everything as I’m not a floral type of girl but what Forever 21/Faith 21 does really well is tanks/tees. They are perfectly thin and semi-sheer to provide enough ventilation when its hot but they hold up really well. The only things that I really like are the two black and white cardigans and I’m oddly attracted to the multicolored dress as well. I have to say, I love that the main Forever 21 range and Faith 21 lookbooks were combined and shot together but I’m disappointed in the styling for Faith 21. Then again, the styling on this shoot was a bit hit-or-miss overall so that could be the reason.

What do you think about the lookbook? I’m tempted to head over to my local Faith 21 to see some of these pieces in person. I may even do a small review!

183 / ALLOY’S SPRING 2010 COLLECTION

Alloy recently released their Spring collection and it shows what they do so well. They make cute, casual and chic clothing that amazing outfits can be built around. There is nothing too super fashion-forward but they make basic pieces extremely well. I’ve never had any issue with the quality of the pieces I’ve purchased from them, its more so been the fit of some pieces. However, now they have customer reviews at the bottom of the product page so that is definitely helpful.

The collection is filled with lightweight dresses, tanks, button-ups, skirts and jeans sure to help stretch your wardrobe during the Spring/Summer seasons. I’ve posted some pieces from the collection below but you can see the rest on their site.

My favorite pieces are the romper and the stonewash denim skirt! What do you all think? Do you see anything that you like? Let me know in the comments!

175 / CARMAKOMA SPRING 2010 COLLECTION

Carmakoma has fallen in love. With Barcelona. The romance leaves a clear mark on the new collection from the Danish designer brand for curvy women. The collection radiates of the mix between a romantic ambiance of Barcelona’s small historic streets and the vibrating atmosphere of the city’s fashionable, urban clubs where trendy young girls in tough leather boots and and light dresses send sexy looks to courting guys.

As always the style of carmakoma’s new collection is a combination of the rock chick coolness and the classical, feminine look, but this time to designers really struck genius by adding vibe from Barcelona’s holiday spirit, urban life, and red carpet glam.”

I have to admit that its a bit weird writing about Spring collections as I’m currently wearing 2 layers of clothing while wrapped in the deliciously hideous blue snuggie. With that being said, the new Spring collection from the Danish duo is absolutely beautiful. What I love about each of their collections is that while they’re feminine, they aren’t overly frilly and fussy. There is always a contrasting tough yet soft feeling in each piece and that always makes for an interesting collection. Their latest offering is no exception and is definitely their best yet! They have perfected what I like to call the ‘effortlessly chic’ look. In the warmers months, you just want something that you can throw on and go, without having to think too much about it. These pieces are perfect for that. That pink tiered dress is the epitome of springtime perfection. It can be paired with heels for a more dressy look or flats for more casual chic. I have to add it to my wardrobe!

Below are a few images from their Spring/Summer lookbook. Take a look and let me know what you think! I haven’t posted them all, so you can view the rest here! The clothes aren’t up for sale yet on their site but they should be available for purchase in the coming days!
