184 / ZANA BAYNE ACCESSORIES

One of the first people I posted about on this blog was Zana, blogger of Garbage Dress. I’ve always loved her style and she’s been a constant fashion inspiration to me. She recently launched her own line of handmade accessories and I’m having a hard time deciding which piece I want the most! The line currently consists of leather harnesses, shoulder pieces and boot straps, which range from $75 to $150. They are perfect layering pieces and add a bit of drama to any outfit. They are made to your measurements and can be purchased in her etsy store.

What do you all think of the accessories? Is there any that you like?

162 / BITCHING & JUNKFOOD ACCESSORIES

As I’m totally one for the dramatics, when I found out about Bitching & Junkfood accessories from Kingdom of Style, I immediately wanted everything. Marion, the designer behind the line, designs one-of-a-kind accessories using human hair and even animal skulls. While that may immediately turn some off, the results are worth taking a look!

I love the feather fringe and the satin pleated collar. Lately I’ve been drawn to dramatic neckwear, from ruffled neck corsets to over-the-top collars like the one above. I need to add some pieces to my collection!

What do you all think? Too much for you? Let me know!

ps. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I’m off to spend ~quality time with the family!

142 / ITS THE SEASON OF THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS

Now that November is upon us, holiday party planning is beginning. There always seem to be a flurry of activity in the last two months of the year that requires the chicest of outfits. You can never go wrong with a wardrobe staple like a little black dress. Finding the perfect one can be a bit of a hassle. Maybe you’re going to meet your future in-laws for the first time or maybe you want to show an ex what they’re missing. Rest assured, I’ve tracked the cutest cocktail dresses to make this holiday season go a bit smoother.

I came across Fennimas Jewelry when I noticed the amazing jewels that Fluvia wore in Monif C’s latest collection campaign. Currently two collections, Jungle Love and Vegas Glam are online and I’m wanting pretty much everything! Unfortunately the shop section of the site won’t be up for a few weeks but I always welcome eye camdy!

121/ MELODY EHSANI FALL 2009 COLLECTION

Back in April, I posted Melody Ehsani’s spring 2009 collection. She recently unveiled her new fall collection ‘Final Frontier’ and as usual there are pieces I’m definitely liking!

She says:

“This series for me was very much inspired by being my true self.

Interconnectedness, Intergalactic, Inter - related.

ONENESS

and the belief in looking back to Nature- the source - to reconnect with the Divine Design….remember who you are….and the belief that you can teleport to where you want to be as soon as you close your eyes to see…”

The good thing is that the rings go up to size 14! What do you guys think? Do you see anything that you like? I am leaning towards to the double-chain 3-finger ring as well as the triangle necklace plate.

She also posted a teaser image from her upcoming fall 09 shoe collection. All I can say is glittery strappy goodness!

117 / TURN UP THE DRAMA!

While some people like their fashion practical, I have a love for all things fashionable yet not quite wearable (hence my fixation with Gareth Pugh). So randomly browsing the internet this morning, I came across these amazingly obnoxious glasses by Stevie-Boi. Inspired by Grace Jones and seen on Eva Marcille (Pigford) from America’s Next Top Model and allegedly Lady Gaga, these glasses are exactly what I would need to take my outfits to that next level. I love irregular things that make people double take and these, no doubt, achieve that. Perfect for adding some drama to any occasion’s outfit!

The best part is that they are really inexpensive with most ranging from $15-35. Oh and that amazing netted bow at the top? $25! I need that in my life.I would seriously wear it EVERYWHERE, like to the laundromat or to the DMV. Perfect!

What do you guys think? Are they too much for you or do you love a bit of the dramatics?

106 / JUST LAUNCHED: LITTLE ROOMS’ THORNWALL COLLECTION

Back in April, I spotlighted Little Rooms jewelry and Ester, the creative mind behind the scenes. Today she launched her new collection, The Thornwall Collection which was inspired by “cities, homes and what connects us most — music.” Honestly I have never wanted an entire collection more than I do this one. There are so many amazing pieces, from rings to necklaces and bangles. Unfortunately the rings only go up to a size 8 so if your fingers are chubbier than that, you are out of luck (edit: the radio ring is available in a size 9!). The upside is that this collection is filled with tons of other pieces that aren’t size-restrictive so have at it!

Below are some shots from the lookbook of the new collection. Also, you can keep up with Little Rooms on twitter and bookmark the blog! I am waiting for Friday so I can start collecting some pieces. So good!

099 / ZIP IT UP!

Another one of fall’s biggest trends is the statement necklace. Gone are the days of dainty jewels, now its the bigger, the better! What better to way to participate in the trend then by taking it totally left field? Instead of adorning your neck and wrists with bejeweled bibs, why not showcase zippers? Yes, those zippers!

I originally saw (and drooled over) the zipper necklaces on Susie Bubble, when Outi from Outsapop Trashion, an amazing DIY designer, sent her one. Immediately I wanted one, or two, or maybe three. Now, lots of designers have come up with several ways to take something ordinary like a zipper and do some creative things with it. Below are a sample from a few Etsy designers.

What do you think? Are there any that you want? The first 4 are definitely ones I have my eye on!

075 / UNMASKING MY LOVE

Photobucket

Blame it on my love of Lady Gaga and her outrageous fashion sense, but I am in dire need of a mask. Not just any mask, a feline-like mask that I can wear out to places like CVS and the local grocery store. I am just that dramatic! Ever since I spotted the Luella cat mask, I have been searching for a good quality knockoff with no luck. I also noticed masks of all kinds have been spotted on the runway from Erin Fetherston to Gaultier to McQueen. I’m thinking, I seriously need to get in on this!

What I love about something as simple as a mask is that it can instantly add a playful yet dramatic feel to your outfit. Let’s be honest, masks aren’t for the wallflowers, they’re for people who like to make statements and get attention, which is perfect for me. While reading one of my favorite fashion blogs, Kingdom of Style, Queen Michelle recently got her hands on an amazing leather cat mask handmade by an Etsy seller for $40! My two-year search will now end on a good note and I will be able to thoroughly embarrass my family and friends when we go out together. Good times!

I know that masks aren’t to everyone’s taste but they’re good for the dramatics and sometimes we all need a bit more off that in our everyday fashion lives.
