167 / KENLEY COLLINS’ COLLECTION IS PLUS SIZE FRIENDLY!

There were rumblings back in September about Project Runway 5 contestant Kenley Collins possibly doing a plus size collection. After showing her clothing at the MAGIC trade show in Las Vegas, she received the greatest interest from plus size buyers yet she was still unsure about whether she would dip into the market.
“We’ll see,” she said. “There were five plus-size buyers that really liked my stuff. So I have them on my mailing list and I’m sending them line sheets and following up with them and seeing what happens. I feel like it’s a great market and I’d rather do that than wedding dresses.”
Fast forward to the present. Her collection is for sale on her website and instead of stopping at size 10 or 12, the range goes up to a size 24. While I wasn’t a fan of Kenley when she was on Project Runway, I actually did like some of her clothing and wouldn’t mind adding some pieces to my wardrobe.

Prices range from $28 for hair accessories to $900 for a royal blue silk shantung and silk organza gown, although most pieces fall in the $200-$400 range.
What do you all think of her clothes and her decision to expand her collection’s size range? I think its interesting that she received the best feedback from the plus size industry and instead of turning up her nose, she saw an opportunity and grabbed it.
